Sometimes it’s hard to convince someone to read religious material, even if it’s free. However, occasionally, giving books away is much easier than expected.
One lady wrote to us that her husband laid a Ten Commandments Twice Removed* book out on the counter to take into town, planning to give it away. However, a client happened to stop by and, upon seeing the book, asked, “Is that your book…Can I have it?”
Of course, the couple was glad to give it to the client, who later called to say that now she was going to have to restudy the Sabbath question. The couple who shared the book has probably never had an easier time giving a book away.
The book-sharing couple recommends, “Leave a book out where people can see it!”

In our mail:
Howdy! What a fantastic book you produced on your elegant equipment…The good Lord shines through you…and I am still amazed and excited about how well you can stretch my small dollars I send.
God has been and still is a blessing to your company. Thanks again for your books!
Yours Forever in Christ, Betty
We agree with Betty–God is a blessing to Remnant. Our equipment does need to be kept in good condition and so we thank God for each of the “small dollars” that are sent to help us continue to print books that share the truth!

A man was eager to share with his father-in-law some books from Remnant Publications, especially the Ten Commandments book,* and so while visiting for a wedding he took some extra books along.
At the hotel where he stayed with family, he began explaining the Ten Commandments book to his father-in-law, when a woman half-listening nearby interrupted, upset that he was “one of those people trying to get the Ten Commandments out of the schools!”
Quickly explaining the misunderstanding of what she had heard–and showing how, along with the book, he believed completely in the validity of the Ten Commandments–our friend then was able to give the books he had brought to the interested stranger and to his father-in-law.
Perhaps God does more than open people’s eyes…Maybe He will also close their ears at the right time, so that a misunderstanding can become an opportunity to be led into an understanding of the truth.

Nicky and her husband were devout Catholics, but recently some of Nicky’s relatives began sharing some books with them from Remnant Publications. Nicky was interested in what they taught from the Scriptures, but her husband insisted that only their priest could interpret the Bible, demanded that no one in the house read the Bible, and locked away all the religious materials that the relatives had given them.
However, Nicky kept going to Bible studies at a relative’s house and sneaking the books they offered into her own house. When they gave her Tidings From the Northeast, she read the book in a single night. Soon she decided that she would begin attending the local Seventh-day Adventist church.
Needless to say, her husband wasn’t pleased and decided they should have meeting with the priest. Imagine his surprise when the priest told him, “Why don’t you just support your wife and go to church with her? Don’t come whining to me!”
Praise the Lord for the people who faithfully shared books–and the witness of the Catholic priest!

A Letter From Remnant Publication’s Mailbox…
Greetings in the precious name of Jesus, our soon coming King. I am pleased to let you know that your book “Secrets Beyond the Grave” is an inspiration and I have no doubt that Christ has really given you writing ability so that you can share with others. Thank you–your pages have reached me and have taught me things I did not know…May God richly bless you.

Sometimes it’s hard to share books with people who are too busy to read; they say they just don’t have the time. However, there are those who read the books they are given partly because they have plenty of time–because they are serving time.
A recent letter from an incarcerated man in Zambia touchingly described his circumstances, but expressed his gratitude for the Bible he had received. He wrote, “I thank you for the Bible which arrived safe…so I thank you once again for your work, remember that in due course you shall reap what you are sowing.”
As is often the case, he is sharing what he learns with his fellow inmates and knows, as he said, that Bible study “will do a great deal to transform people here in prison.”
If you wonder who else you might share books with, and if you’re looking for someone who would appreciate the reading material, why not consider those in prison? Many of these individuals may meet you in heaven and say “I was in prison and you gave me a book that led me to spiritual freedom.”

The postal system has been an important part of sharing books for a long time, but we recently encountered the story of a post office that took delivering the mail to a whole new level!
After doing a saturation walk sequence mailing of the Ten Commandments books to a particular zip code, Remnant Publications was informed that some of the addresses had been incorrect. Having undeliverable addresses was not expected, since it rarely happens in these types of mailings; however, the postmaster’s response to this situation was even more unexpected. Instead of throwing the books away (as is typically done), the thoughtful postmaster took the undeliverable books to the local pastor in his town.
So who was the pastor, what denomination was his church and why did the postmaster take the time to give the books away? We don’t know any of those answers…But we do know that some pastor is going to get a double witness: First by the members of his congregation who received a book in the mail, and also by the postmaster-turned-literature-evangelist!

A woman explained to us how she was at a laundromat doing her
laundry, and as she walked by one of their garbage cans something caught her
eye. As she looked around to make sure no one was watching her fishing through
the garbage she pulled out a copy of
Steps to Christ. She read it and gave her life to the Lord!
Lesson: This illustrates the powerful point that God is interested
in us doing the part of getting the books out there, even if they get thrown
away, God can and will still use them!

One woman shared The Passion of Love with a couple of nuns while she was out shopping. The two nuns were so excited with these books they asked for more so they could give one to each of the sisters in their rectory. The following week the same woman was out sharing books again, and when she offered the book to an approaching woman she was met with the reply: “Oh, thank you, I already have this book”, when she asked where she got the book the woman told her the nuns were handing them out St. Josephs cathedral!

A pastor was having trouble getting the adults behind the idea of passing out books, so the he went to the youth. The youth really got in to it—in one afternoon they handed out over 500 books, and when the sun started setting the pastor had to PULL them away! He commented that he had never seen the youth so excited about anything before. Their reception was so good the youth can’t wait to do it again!
Lesson: Youth play a vital role in evangelism. There is a whole spectrum of people who will respond to youth when they might not to an adult. Many think youth aren’t interested in going out with books, but give it a try, you’ll find, as many are already finding, this is not an isolated case!
